Michal Fargo was born in Israel in 1984 and grew up in a city called Holon. A city made up at the time of sand dunes and heavy cement architecture, which has been a great source of inspiration for her work. Between 2007 and 2011, she attended the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem studying in the ceramics and glass department. After graduation, she won the prestigious Sidney Myer Award for her final project and had a solo exhibition at the Shepparton Art Museum, Australia. In the same year she came second at the BCA, Andenne, Belgium. During 2013, Michal collaborated with the Spanish design brand PCM Design (Madrid), and designed 3 collections. Later that year, she won the bronze prize at the Kaolin Grand Prix competition in Jingdezhen, China. In 2014, she was awarded the prestigious Clore-Bezalel scholarship to attend the MA programme at the Royal College of Art in London. During her studies, Michal participated in several exhibitions, including the Craft Biennale in Chengjou, Korea, where she received a special mention for her work. After graduating from the Royal College of Art, Michal moved to Berlin and set up her studio in the Neukolln district, where she was named a finalist in the Loewe competition in 2019.
